The University of Minnesota is pleased to announce the Bioinformatics Summer Institute’s Internship Program for Summer 2009 for undergraduate and graduate students. This program is supported by the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health, and the University of Minnesota.

The mission of the Bioinformatics Summer Institute is to provide the highest possible quality undergraduate and graduate level education and research experiences in bioinformatics, equipping the new generation of this burgeoning professional community with the tools for a successful career in bioinformatics. Sixteen undergraduate and graduate students will participate in the Institute for ten summer weeks.

Summer appointments will be full-time, ten-week appointments. The 2009 program will run from June 1 through August 7, 2009. The stipend is $5,500 for ten weeks. Students with travel costs or extra living expenses may pay them out of the stipend. A student interested in becoming an intern must be a junior or a senior undergraduate student, or a first or second year graduate student at the time of the internship in order to be eligible and must be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and its possessions.
